Apple has had their BootCamp Beta out for a while that lets users boot either the Mac OS or Windows. One drawback has been that only one OS is running at any given time, so to run apps from the other OS you need to reboot.
A new startup called Parallels says that their Parallels Desktop [...]

War on Apple
It seems that becoming the dominant company in the portable digital music category has brought Apple a lot more than just boatloads of cash. They are undergoing attacks from both other businesses and a small group of DRM foes.

The World’s First 18x Rewritable DVD
Samsung’s new WriteMaster SH-S182D is the world’s first 18x rewritable DVD and 12x DVD-RAM writable drive - which is a significant improvement in speed over the 16x industry standard.
The drive will be shipping later this month for a mere $69.99. Sounds like a good DVD burner to have until Blu-ray and HD-DVD become affordable.

Vista Most Secure OS Ever?
Microsoft Senior Vice President Bob Muglia was recently quoted in a speech at TechEd 2006 as saying that Windows Vista is the most secure OS in the industry.
There is no doubt that Microsoft has made security a major priority with Vista given the problems that XP has had over the years. As BetaNews points out [...]
Google’s Picasa Web Albums
Google is adding a new service to their Picasa photo management software, allowing users to upload pictures and share them via a URL or e-mail. The software is currently in beta form. Not a whole lot new about this, Flickr is probably the household name of the web site most people use for this functionality.
Still, [...]
BitTorrent Serving up Vista Beta 2
UPDATE: Microsoft has sent a cease and desist letter to VistaTorrent. I take back my comment about Microsoft, “To their credit, to this point they have not asked that the site be taken down.”
Trying to assist all those that are trying to get the Vista Beta 2, Chris Pirillo has published the 3.2 GB package [...]
