The action figures that were released for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle films were okay, but they weren’t anywhere close to screen accurate. John Harmon of Mint Condition Customs repainted the four turtle action figures and added special touches and character details to make them stand out. The transformation is pretty incredible. As Harmon states:
They lacked a severe amount of detail that I felt I needed to fix to really bring the movie designs to life in action figure form. Each figure has been fully repainted, from head to toe. I’ve added spots, given them washes and highlights, and of course used only the best Testors Model Masters acrylics paints to do the job. I had to study several images and trailer stills in order to get down every detail. It took a long time, but the results speak for themselves.
The set of four figures sold on eBay for $810.
