For the next three days I will embark on a culinary adventure into the land of novelty candy. Follow along with me as I enter a realm of unexplored flavors that could be delicious…or downright disgusting. In today’s installment I sample Bacon Gumballs and Cupcake Mints. Check out my assessment after the break.

Bacon Gumballs: If someone asked me to describe the taste without knowing what the product was, I would have said bacon. However, it’s like eating bacon when you have been pulled out of the Matrix—synthetic and unsatisfying. Plus, if I chewed it for a significant length of time I would probably puke. This ain’t no Grand Slam breakfast my friends. Product Page (2 for $7)

Cupcake Mints: The flavor is reminiscent of icing, but it’s not a powerful flavor—and not nearly as sweet as I would have hoped. Still, it is definitely edible. Because the mints are so small, chances are you will need several in your mouth to get a decent bit of flavor. Product Page (2 for $5)

What will I try tomorrow? Will I enjoy it? Will I puke? Anything can happen! Stay tuned.
