Hands On With The J.J. Abrams Bad Robot Statue [Review]

Bad Robot is the mascot for J.J. Abrams’ production company, but it has now become the official mascot of my office.

When we first got a close-up look at the Bad Robot figure while visiting the Quantum Mechanix headquarters back in November, we knew it was a thing of beauty—but after examining it more closely I can say that is an understatement. I’ve totally fallen in love with this adorable little bot.

The 10-inch figure is cast in polystone and is hand-painted with exceptional detail. It also comes with detachable limbs for posing—including an arm with a Slusho drink.

The figure looks and feels great close up—almost like an old hand-carved wooden toy. The paint job has a slightly weathered vibe to it, which only adds to that vintage aesthetic.

Just remember that this figure isn’t articulated, so don’t go trying to bend the legs or anything—it’s liable to snap off in your hand. This figure is purely for decorative purposes, but you’ll smile every time you see it.

The only problem is that this figure is an extremely limited edition—only 1000 were produced. I’ve got #614 which leaves 999—and many of those have already been sold. So, if you want to get your hands on one, don’t wait around too long.
