LEGO Hubble Could Celebrate The Telescope’s 25th Anniversary

Lego Hubble 1

In 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope (named after astronomer Edwin Hubble) was carried into orbit around Earth, where it continues making amazing discoveries to this day. Now, GRusso has submitted his design for a Lego version of the telescope to Lego Ideas, saying “A LEGO model of this amazing piece of space engineering would come as a perfect homage to its [the Hubble’s] 25th anniversary in 2015 (little more than a year from now).”

The design is getting a lot of support, but still needs more if it’s going to have a real shot at being accepted.

More pictures of this well-designed (and strangely round) model telescope after the break.
