Lucasfilm recently registered domain names for a project titled Star Wars: Identities. That small action is all it takes for fans to do what we do best: freak right out and then start speculating. We could sit patiently and wait for announcements, but it’s just not our style. This time, we didn’t have a lot of time to spin theories. Lucasfilm announced details about the new project yesterday.
The bad news is it’s not anything related to the live action show or new on camera stories. The good news is that it’s still awesome. Star Wars: Identities is an interactive museum exhibit opening in Montreal on April 19, 2012 (yes, you can get tickets already). This exhibit will utilize a scientific approach to analyze the behavior and identity of characters like Anakin and Luke Skywalker. It will focus on three major themes: “the origins of the characters, the influences that shape them, and the choices they make during their life.” On top of this, the exhibit will have over 200 objects from the Lucasfilm archives.
Kyra Bowling, Exhibits Manager at Lucasfilm says:
“The Star Wars saga continues to captivate audiences who find connection to its richly diverse cast of wonderful characters. Star Wars provides a natural lens through which to explore the themes of personal identity and character. This innovative exhibition lets visitors of all ages investigate, in a fun and educational way, the factors and forces that help shape who we are as individuals.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m already plotting my visit to Montreal.
