CES 2007: The Kleer Wireless iPod Adapter Is Freakin’ Awesome

If you love your iPod, but hate the limitations of wired earbuds and crappy FM transmitters, you will be interested to know that Kleer has delivered an iPod Adapter that delivers a 2.4GHz radio frequency for CD quality full-lossless wireless audio.

Besides the high quality audio, the Kleer wireless solution also promises ultra low power consumption which gives it a major leg up on Bluetooth.

Kleer is also planning on licensing the technology for use in other products. RCA is already planning on integrating it into their new Jet Stream MP3 player due out this spring.

Pricing details have not been announced, but you can bet I will be first in line to pick one of these up.

Just for clarification: Kleer doesn’t produce the adaptor, they license the wireless technology to OEMs that manufacture a wide range of wireless audio products. What you’ve seen there is the reference design that they’ve announced, and I’m quite certain that the product will be manufactured in the not too distant future. Judging by the announced RFP of the Jet Stream ($149 if I’m not mistaken), this stuff is going to make some waves. My kids are already bugging me to get them these ASAP.
