There are millions of iPods out there, and more users are being added all the time. Some of these are just upgrading, but others are truly new users. Now I can tell you that I have spent plenty of time setting up iPods for friends and family and I can say that the basic problem is just a lack of knowledge. Not only about the iPod, but computers in general.
There is a 27 page iPod tutorial that may assist from NotePage. It looks pretty nice and covers all the basics. However, I am not convinced this will get me out of my setup duties for two reasons: 1. The tutorial is very helpful, but I don’t think it is going to teach them about computers in general, and 2. they have no patience. I am sure the lack of patience is not just my family and when someone gets a new toy they will want to play with it, not read manuals. It is for that reason, and that reason alone, that I will continue to support them.
