Jobs Keynote: Second Gen Nano / Shuffle Introduced

As expected, Steve Jobs has announced the second generation iPod Nano at todays Apple media event. Here’s what’s new:
- Battery life has increased from 15 to 24 hours
- Includes Gapless Playback for songs encoded with MP3, AAC, and Apple Lossless
- Includes Instant Searching
- Headphone redesign
- Models include: 2GB model in aluminum, 4GB in aluminum, pink, green, blue, and 8GB in black
- Price: $149 for 2GB, $199 for 4GB, $249 for 8GB models
- Thinner than previous Nano - charger is 40% smaller
All “Completely remastered” Nano’s (as Jobs insists on calling them) are available today.

There has also been an announcement of a second gen Shuffle at the Jobs keynote. The new features are as follows:
- New aluminum case
- Way smaller than previous shuffle
- Built in clip for easy carrying
- 1 GB models only
- $79 price tag
The new Shuffle ships in October but Apple is currently taking pre-orders.
