Monster iEZClick Remote

The Monster iEZClick is an RF remote for the iPod. Attache a wireless transmitter to your iPod and, the theory goes, you can keep your iPod safely tucked away while the weatherproof remote allows you to control the iPod. Of course being RF, there is no need for line of sight, so that is a plus. But in general, it would seem that there were very limited uses for the iPod needing to be protected while the remote takes the punishment. I can understand how, when doing an activity like skiing, it would be nice to leave it safely tucked away, but I am not sure how protected it would be while I was tumbling down the slopes after going over a mogul that was a bit bigger than I expected. But maybe that is just me.

It does come with a belt clip and elastic wrist strap, so they did think about where it would be most useful. The remote does seem to be well designed and the wireless receiver on the iPod is small enough to remain very portable. I am not sure if that is enough to make up for it’s limited usefulness, though. And at $70, it isn’t like it is cheap enough to purchase just to try out.
