You have to admire Sony for continuing to crank out iPod killers, unfortunately it seems that each release is just as weak as the last.
The NW-S706 is a 4GB flash based DAP with noise canceling technology, channel separation, quick charge function, FM tuner, line-in recording, and a whopping 50 hours of battery life.
Word on the street has this thing priced around $330, which would put it at $90 more than an 8GB Nano. Could Sony actually be that retarded? You never know.

Update: Sony has priced the 4GB model at around 29,000 yen ($240) in Japan.
