An interesting little twist to the XM/Clear Channel saga regarding advertising. While it was announced that XM would carry Clear channel programming that would contain ads to settle thier dispute, it is now reported that XM Canada is now going to drop Clear Channel programming rather than carry them with ads.
They don’t explicitly state that, but in a section where they discuss what channels they are adding is the following note. “To make room for our new channels, please note that Nashville, Kiss, Mix, Sunny, Caliente, Cinemagic, Alegria and Music Lab will no longer be available effective April 17th.”
Regardless of why they are doing it, I applaud them for trying to keep their service to the standard they announced when they frst came out.
