So for all of you out there that have played the first game I am pleased to announce that the second installment deemed Armed Assault (ArmA) is set to release H1 2006. They have a full work up on some of their features being brought to ArmA over here.
A small snippet from the Newsletter….

Multiplayer

Large, persistent battles.
60+ player multiplayer (plus additional AI), players can join at any time.
Unique game modes introducing modes of play not seen in any other game.
Cooperative game modes.

To all of you yet to play Operation Flashpoint, get ready because if this game is as good as the first you will be pleasantly surprised. Graphics might be a tad off from games such as BF2, but the Co-op missions and size of the levels will totally make up for it. Anyhow I am as excited as a little school girl that this puppy is right around the corner and I hope that it stacks up favorably to the first Flashpoint.

IGN has a review of the Chronicles of Narnia game – and by the looks of things, it should be a big hit.

“Narnia stands as a near perfect example of how to make a movie-based videogame the right way. Everything from the combat system and level design to the game’s visual presentation just scream quality. The technology alone is damn impressive. But throw in ten hours of cool bosses, refined gameplay and awesome visuals and you’ve got the recipe for one seriously entertaining game.”

So you got your new X-Box 360 but it is just a tad bit too bland for your tastes. Well fret no more the people over at Decalgirls have the solution. While I have yet to hear of this company or know how reliable they are, the skins they have to offer are impressive. They offer skins for many devices including X-Boxes, X-Box 360′s, IPods and more.

Appears that Microsoft is gonna roll out previews monthly of Vista the next Operating System.

BOSTON (Reuters) – Microsoft Corp. is releasing preview versions of its new Windows Vista operating system about once a month in an effort to get more customer feedback than usual ahead of next year’s launch, the company said Tuesday.

The release is slated for second half of 2006, until then we will just have to be happy with the views into what we are getting.

Gamespot writes:

“If made law, the Family Entertainment Protection Act would be a “a prohibition against any business for selling or renting a Mature, Adults-Only, or Ratings Pending game to a person who is younger than seventeen.” It would punish violators with unspecified fines, though it did not specify if the clerk who sold the game or the retailer where said clerk worked would be punished. “This provision is not aimed at punishing retailers who act in good faith to enforce the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) system,” read a statement from Clinton’s office.”

The upside of all this may be that game makers will be able to express their creativity more freely – because the burden of protecting children’s “fragile minds” will be placed firmly on the shoulders of retailers.
