Apparently Star Trek’s redshirts have proven to be so inept that their obligatory deaths have become the focus of this card game from ThinkGeek. The goal is pretty much what you’d expect – kill all of your redshirts as quickly as possible and win:

“Just look at the mission at hand . . . and then pick the people with the worst chance of succeeding! Only when all your redshirts have been eliminated will you be a happy captain. Kill ‘em all first and you win! The Redshirts Card Game – ‘To boldly eliminate your crew like no captain has done before!’”

San Francisco-based developer Massive Black has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund Zombie Playground, an online, team-based action arena game that will offer “a mix of third-person shooter and action RPG featuring character progression and unlockable abilities along with weapon and clothing upgrades”. But the awesome thing is that you’ll take on the zombie horde with a group of grade school kids.

The development team for the game includes BioWare vets Jason Chan (Senior Artist), as well as Aesop Rock and Shawn Lee (Music Producers/Artists). If the team is able to meet their current $100,000 goal, they will be able to produce an alpha version of Zombie Playground with two playable characters (one ranged, one melee) using Attack the Block, Goonies, and The Walking Dead as inspiration.

Ultimately the goal is to amass $ 2 million, which will allow for the creation of the complete game, featuring a full school location, multiple classes, and additional game modes.

Store 4GB of Colonial Fleet secrets on this awesome USB drive styled to look like the Battlestar Galactica! Seriously, I don’t think data storage has ever looked this sexy. Most of us think our jobs are pretty cool because we get free coffee and maybe donuts on Fridays. If you work at Bethesda, you think your job is cool because there’s a life-sized reproduction of Alduin’s Wall from Skyrim just sitting there as part of the office decor. This originally was part of the displays Bethesda set up at E3 and PAX, but has a new home in their offices. Way to make the rest of us feel totally lame, Bethesda. Um, got any job openings?

I would definitely do a double take if I saw this Order 66 car on the freeway. As Star Wars fans know, Order 66 was the fateful command issued by Palpatine to the Clone Troopers at the end of Revenge of the Sith. The troopers turned on their Jedi comrades and killed them, and the Clone Wars came to an end.
