Gmail has been available on mobile devices via a browser for nearly a year now, but today Google released a downloadable application that will significantly speed up email use.
Requirements: Web enabled phone with a data plan. Click here for a list of supported phones. Click here to view a demo.
To download the application, visit gmail.com/app via your mobile phone and follow the instructions. You can also get a direct link to the download by visiting mobile.google.com and entering your phone number. The link will be delivered via text message.
According to TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington, the Gmail for Mobile application is “the best email experience outside of a Blackberry I’ve ever had on a mobile device.” And hey, you really can’t go wrong with Gmail anyway.
