The Beta version of Skype 3.0 was released today and there are plenty of new features for users to get excited about.
Click to Call: Perhaps the most interesting of the new features available on Skype 3.0 is “click to call” which allows the user to call any number on a webpage just by clicking it.
Public Chats: Anyone with Skype can now enter moderated text based public chats.
Skypecasts: This feature was available in a previous beta but is now being opened up to a larger group of Skype users. Basically, Skypecasts are moderated conference calls with up to 100 participants.
Links in Mood Messages: Skype users can now share their favorite links in mood message.
In addition to the new features listed above, there are also updates to the UI that update it’s look and ease of use.
Keep in mind that SkypeOut, which allows you to call land lines and cellphones via Skype will be free of charge until December 31st.
