The expectation is that Verizon will begin offering LG’s Chocolate phone starting tomorrow. It doesn’t take more than one look at this phone to see that design is the key. A thin (16.6 mm) slider phone, it has all the features you would expect - a 1.3 megapixel camera, bluetooth capability, MP3 player, ability to record videos, EVDO, 128 MB internal memory and the ability to add more memory using micro SD cards.
There is no doubt that they are looking to sell this phone more with it’s size and styling than it’s features. However, slide the phone open to get to it’s keypad, and a red glow from the keys along with the screen lighting up give it a very distinctive look. With the phone closed, it has a very clean, simple look. And with the large selection of phones out there today, if you can’t compete with some new feature, then design and styling are what is left to differentiate it.
If this phone does get released tomorrow as planned, I will follow up with the full specifications and initial reviews.
