Six months after closing it’s doors, Mobile ESPN will be relaunched through Verizon Wireless – a move that just might give ESPN the backing it needs to surpass the meager 30,000 subscribers it managed to attract the first time around.
The agreement will give Verizon exclusive rights to distribute Mobile ESPN on its V Cast phones. The companies also plan to offer a mobile ESPN channel that will feature much of the same programming found on its network broadcasts.
V Cast subscribers can enjoy Mobile ESPN at no extra charge beyond their monthly service fees. It is expected to roll out sometime in the next few months.
