The next installment of the T-Mobile Sidekick is here, but can it continue it’s image as one of the best e-mail and messaging devices around?
Reviews:
PC Magazine: (4.5 out of 5)“Think of it as the Sidekick 2 ½. After an 18-month wait, the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 slims down the hip handheld, bumps up the camera resolution, and adds an MP3 player. Although there are no breathtaking new features, the SK3 continues the Sidekick reign as the most usable, cuddly e-mail device around—truly, wireless e-mail and IM for dummies.”
MobileBurn: (Highly Recommended)“In my view, the Sidekick 3 has finally come of age. It now is phone enough for me to use on a day to day basis, while still offering most all of the advantages of a smartphone or PDA - including the best QWERTY keyboard available today. It isn’t small or light, but it is now fully capable of taking on the likes of Motorola’s Q or the Palm Treo line.”
InfoSync: (80% Messaging / 73% Music)“ With its music, EDGE and Bluetooth capabilities, the sleek new Sidekick 3 may not be a giant leap forward (we’re holding out for a 3G version once T-Mobile gets around to launching a high-speed network), but it’s a worthy successor to one of the best messaging phones on the market.”

Bottom Line:
For those of you looking for a solid, easy to use, portable e-mail and IM platform, the Sidekick 3 is still one of your best options. Everything that people loved about the Sidekick 2 is still there, and the upgraded camera (1.3 megapixels), new MP3 player, upgraded EDGE, and Bluetooth capabilities only sweeten the deal.
