ATI has announced that they have two new TV video cards available immediately. They have the TV Wonder 650 for $129 and the TV Wonder 200 for $59. Both include the Catalyst Media Center with its 3D interface to access all the features of the video cards.
The TV Wonder 650 offers over the air HDTV reception, compatibility with Windows Media Center 2005 and is Vista ready and supports hardware MPEG-2 compression. Meant for use in an HTPC and as a PVR. The TV Wonder 200 offers most of the same features, but does not have HDTV support or the PVR that the 650 offers. For either card, in order to have dual tuner capapbility, such as watching one show while recording another, you need to add a second card. Not much different than most other solutions out there today.
Nothing groundbreaking here, but you get the capability at a fairly respectable price. I think the 200 is bascially a waste, I would expect most users to splurge on the 650 to have the HDTV support. Of course, HDTV over the air is not really a solution I want any part of, but if that is what you are looking for, this can do it.
