Is MacBook Pro Pricing Screwed Up?

An article in Gizmondo pointed out what appear to be a few flaws in the pricing of Macbooks in the Apple Store.
If you have a 15″ Macbook customized to include the same processor and hard drive of the base 17″ model, the price of both turn out to be $2799. So you would be missing out on the larger screen, 8X double-layer Superdrive, and the Firewire 800.
Furthermore, if you upgrade both machines to 100GB 7200 rpm hard drives and 2GB of RAM, the 17″ Macbook is actually $100 cheaper than the 15″ model.
Perhaps there is a little overlap with regard to 15″ Macbook pricing and consumers can expect a reduction - or perhaps not. Either way, this is useful information if you are looking to hit Apple up for some values or avoid getting ripped off.
