Seagate is partnering with ASI Computer Technologies to get their encrypted hard drive solution in laptops out to users. The specs of these Intel based systems are about what you would expect: 80, 120 and 160 GB HDD’s, 15.4 screen, and a fingerprint reader.

Prices will be on the higher side, starting around $2,150.

Seagate’s DriveTrust technology will keep pretty much all your data encrypted. They come with serial ATA and hardware-based Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption. Being hardware based should increase the drives speeds along with it’s reliability. It really makes a secure solution simple and painless. Get the price down a bit and it may get some more interest.
