Apple Patents Gaming Tablet Application?

Tablet GamingAccording to Macsimum News, an un-named company (which they believe is Apple) has filed a patent for motion detection technology that could be used for a number of different applications - including gaming.

“Accelerometer” technology, as it has been called was linked to gaming in the patent application by the following:

“In a gaming application, where the accelerometer may be used to detect a scene change during a video game running within a portable device.”

There are also a number of diagrams illustrating how the tablet could be utilized in racing games, and there are hints about how the technology could be used in first person shooters and flying games.

Whether the company behind the patent is Apple or not, the technology is certainly intriguing.
