Today is April 1st, and that means sites around the web are getting “creative” with their products, services, and website designs. Here are some of the more notable examples I came across this morning ( the complete list is available after the break ):
Products:

WiiHelm: “Simply lock your existing Wiimote into the stylish white helmet and free your hands for relaxation… or other important tasks. After extensive scientific study it was found that manipulating muscles in your neck for 10 minutes uses 64% less energy than waving your arms about like a lunatic.”

SurgeStix Inhalable Caffeine: “You don’t actually light SurgeStix, that’s too 1990, instead you bend them (like a glow stick) until you hear a snap. This will send the caffeine solution flowing into the filter-looking end. Wait five seconds for the “filter” to absorb the solution.”

Vilcus Plug Dactylodapter: “The Vilcus Plug Dactyloadapter allows anyone to quickly and easily test the working condition of any wall socket. Simply insert the Vilcus into the socket in question… insert two fingers and the use becomes apparent instantly.”

Robo Girlfriend: “With interchangeable facial features and expressions to suit you, the RoboGirlfriend allows you to literally build your perfect partner. In addition to her beguiling exterior, state of the art technology gives her qualities that will eclipse your previously fallible and unreliable human girlfriends.”
Google:

Google TiSP: “Introducing Google TiSP (BETA), our new FREE in-home wireless broadband service. Sign up today and we’ll send you your TiSP self-installation kit, which includes setup guide, fiber-optic cable, spindle, wireless router and installation CD.”

Gmail Paper: Request a physical copy of any email via a button in Gmail. Google will send you paper printouts in 2-4 days via the postal service
World of Warcraft

Introducing the Tinfoil Hat!: ” Every engineer knows that in order to achieve true greatness, it is imperative to always keep a clear, unclouded mind and to protect one’s secrets from those who would seek to steal or plagiarize the radical new designs of a hard-working genius. The Tinfoil Hat is the logical result of this profound insight, combining tinfoil’s powerful mental shielding properties with the excellent counter-hexing effect of troll tears and the outstanding mind-focus powers of one of Azeroth’s most precious gems.”
