As the name implies, the Arcade Hotel caters to gamers. Each of the 36 rooms comes complete with consoles and games. They even have handhelds so you can play multiplayer at the hotel bar. Amenities include a late checkout, comic book library, free tea and coffee and a welcome drink when you arrive.
The real charm, however, is the idea behind the hotel. You can tell that owner Daniel Salmanovich wanted to create a relaxing place for people to come hang out and enjoy their stay. Looking at the pictures from their opening night party and gaming competition, I think it would be a real blast.
Then again, a concept like this might make more sense as a “gamer spa” of sorts. A place where all of your needs are catered to, and you don’t feel compelled to make the most of the outside world. After all, if I’m in Amsterdam, the last thing I would want to do is hang around the hotel all day.
