According to rumors floating around on the internet, part of the reason for the delay in filling pre-orders for the XBox 360 may be due to employees at retail stores buying up consoles for resale on Ebay.
According to ABC News, “Representatives from two large chains, Gamestop and EB Games, refused to comment on the rumor, saying that such claims were unsubstantiated.”
In related news, the Inquirer is reporting that Ebay has now sold $23 million XBox 360s. Or about one every 13 seconds. The average selling price was $718 in the first week – it has since dropped to $702.
