If you are a Star Wars fan its time to bust out the TP and petroleum jelly because a complete mobile entertainment system contained within a lifelike R2D2 robot is on the floor at CES.

The R2D2 Media Center Edition (M.C.E.) can play radio, CD, MP3, WMA (among other music formats), project DVDs, games, and photos on the wall, it has an iPod dock, a memory card slot, an integrated stereo system, and a remote that looks like the Millennium Falcon.

There is also a (Communication System) C.S. edition that features an integrated webcam, lightsaber Skype phone controls, and a wireless FM transmitter.

If you are thinking, “that’s going to be expensive!” – you are absolutely correct. Expect to pay $2500 for R2D2 M.C.E. when he’s released sometime later this year.
