Nintendo Wii
A spokesperson for Nintendo has confirmed that Japan will be receiving an enhanced Wii with DVD capability.

From the Nintendo’s statement:

There are currently plans to release a version of Wii in Japan featuring DVD playback. There are currently no plans to bring this model to Europe or the US.

My personal opinion? Who the hell cares. I mean, who doesn’t own a DVD player already?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - game systems are about gaming. I really don’t care about add on HD-DVD, Blu-ray, or traditional DVD. If I want that crap I’ll buy it separately. That’s right, I’m talking to you Sony.
