Only a few weeks after mysterious game footage of a Ghostbusters title from European developer Zootfly was removed from the web by Sony, Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that a game and a CGI based third installment of the series is, in fact, on it’s way.
Aykroyd stated – “Universal purchased the rights from Sony for a game. I’m actually going to have to perform and do some motion capture for them. That will be next year.”
He also revealed in an interview with CISN country radio that a third Ghostbusters film is slated for production. The film will be shot in CGI (because at this point it looks as if most of the cast has eaten their fair share of “big Twinkies”), but the good news is that Bill Murray has already signed on do voice work so this appears to be the makings of a full-fledged sequel.
As for the game, it remains unclear whether Zootfly will continue their work or whether the game will be taken on by another publisher. Either way, gamers can expect to see something within the next year or so.
