DVD Enhanced Wii Hits U.S. In 2007

A few weeks ago Nintendo confirmed that an enhanced Wii console with DVD playback capabilities would be made available in Japan, but there was no word on whether or not it would also be released in the U.S.
Today Nintendo revealed that a DVD enhanced version would, in fact, be released in the U.S. sometime in the latter half of 2007. They also noted that the upgraded version would cost more than a basic $250 console.
Chances are, if you have waited this long to get a DVD player, you are probably not interested in the Nintendo Wii in the first place.
