E3Doug Lowenstein, president of the Entertainment Software Association is expected to announce that our beloved E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) will be cancelled after a 12 year run.

Apparently, the problem was that the publishers did not feel that the amount of press coverage they received warranted all of the money that they were putting into the event.

There has been a lot of talk that the expo will live on in another form - a much smaller form that is. Regardless, it appears that the days of elaborate gaming shows complete with big announcements, flashing lights, and booth babes are officially over.
