Sony has announced that the retail release of Gran Turismo HD will be cancelled in favor of a full-fledged Gran Turismo 5 title. However, gamers can pick up the HD version exclusively through the Playstation Store as a free download.
Apparently, Gran Turismo HD ended up serving as a bridge of sorts for the final GT 5 product. Many of the elements found in the HD version will be incorporated into the GT 5 retail release. Sony has also promised that more concept versions will make there way to the Playstation Store in the coming months.
The GT HD “Concept” title will be available on the Playstation Store (Japan) starting on 12/24. A US store debut date has not been made available.
