Fans of the original Guitar Hero can start saving their money because a second installment is due out this November.
The new game will feature over 40 licensed songs, indie rock tracks, and co-op gameplay that will allow players to adopt lead, rhythm, and bass guitar roles.
“Guitar Hero has proved phenomenally successful! Guitar Hero veterans will be able to plug in their Guitar Hero SG Controllers and rock GH II straight out of the box,” said RedOctane CEO Kelly Sumner. “We will really push the envelope with Guitar Hero II. Despite the fact there are many months until release, we’re already implementing exciting features and innovations. This fall we’re going to rock everyone’s world all over again.”
Not content to stop there, Sumner also noted that gamers can expect up to six Guitar Hero titles by 2007 that will cover specific musical genres like country or metal.
Awesome. Now I have something new to rock out to while I am drunk at this year’s Christmas party.
