Last week, a good deal of information leaked out about the upcoming Halo 3, including the fact that it will come in 3 retail SKUs. The most feature packed of the three, dubbed the “Legendary Edition” comes with a replica of Master Chief’s helmet, a four disk set (includes the game, documentaries and developer commentary, spin-off material (Red vs. Blue, Spark of Life, etc.), all cut scenes from Halo 1-3 in HD, and (possibly) a sneak peek of the currently defunct Halo movie.
The image above was scanned from the most recent Famitsu magazine. Both the mini helmet replica and what appears to be the Legendary Edition packaging are displayed.
According to Gamestop, the Legendary Edition will set you back $99. In fact, they have already started taking pre-orders for it. A reservation fee of $5 for the standard edition, $10 for the collector’s edition, and $25 for the Legendary edition is required. They have also listed a release date of November 1st 2007, but keep in mind that both the final price and the release date are not confirmed.
By the way, accepting pre-orders this far out is kind of shady in my opinion.
