Shaun Alexander, running back for the Seattle Seahawks, reigning league MVP and Madden ‘07 cover boy has had a rough start to his season – and now it appears that he will be out indefinitely with a broken foot.
For those of you who don’t know, it seems that tragedy of this type seems to befall athletes chosen to grace the Madden covers. Just ask Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, and Marshall Faulk.
Coincidence? Surely. After all, Eddie George and Ray Lewis were both on the cover in 2001 and 2005 and played without incident. Still, the “curse” was interesting enough to get ESPN writing about it last year.
