Next Zelda Console Game “Deep” In Development / Hourglass Delayed?

According to the latest issue of Game Informer:

…our sources tell us that the next installment in this series has been deep in development for around a year. It’s highly unlikely that Nintendo would release two Zelda games a year apart, but don’t be surprised if this game comes sooner than you think.”

The magazine also revealed that the highly anticipated Phantom Hourglass for the DS has been pushed back until October 15th 2007.

I’m not sure that I buy the idea of the next Zelda console game being in development for a year already – but if it is true I certainly wouldn’t complain. As for the Phantom Hourglass delay, I wouldn’t be surprised if this rumor turns out to be correct. Nintendo seems to be in the midst of a major revamp for the title and, naturally, that will take time. However, if the final product turns out as good as Twilight Princess did after all of the delays it suffered, I would rather wait.
