Nintendo has confirmed that the “Nintendo MP3 Player” will be released in Europe on December 8th – the same day as the Wii launch. Word on the street is that the player will retail for €30 ($38)
The device features an SD slot (512MB card included) and it’s own headphone port – so you can use it with both the DS and the Game Boy Advance / Advance SP / Micro line.
What puzzles me is that it makes complete sense for Nintendo to leverage their popular handheld systems to get a foothold in the MP3 market. Why did it take them this long to develop a product? Whatever the reason, I suppose that it is better late than never.
