Rumors are flying all over the place that Microsoft will announce an XBox 360 price cut at next month’s E3. According to reports, the cut is expected to take place in October - and it will drive down the price of the premium system by $100 and the core system by $80.
Yeah right. I would expect some sort of price drop just before the release of the PS3 - but $100? Very doubtful to say the least. I’ll keep my fingers crossed though…just in case.
In more believable news, Microsoft is also expected to announce the release of the XBox 360 HD-DVD drive at a price point of $100. Considering the fact that we have known about the drive since CES, this is entirely possible. Plus a $100 price tag seems reasonable.
Finally, E3 will feature a first look at the next installment of Halo and the news of a March release date. Plus, Gears of War will arrive on store shelves in October.
Again, I can buy this. We have heard similar reports from reputable sources.
