PS3 / Wii Launch Allocation Information

TargetA few bits of information have leaked out today regarding Nintendo Wii allocation numbers at Target stores and PS3 allocation numbers in select Circuit City locations.

The first, and most substantial piece of information, involves Target. Apparently, an employee at the retail chain has posted a list that he claims is the official number of Wii launch units at Target stores.

At first glance, the list is an incomprehensible series of numbers ( 3 124 191 551 24 3 – for example). Pay close attention to the first number and the second to last number in the line. They represent the Target store number and the actual number of units available (contact your local Target to find out their store number.)

Alternatively, you can try using the “Wii Searching Doohickey” or the “Wii / PS3 Seeker” websites to obtain the necessary information. Basically, they have organized the numerical list in a much straightforward manner. However, some have reported bugs here and there when trying to perform area code or zip code searches.

Circuit CityThe second piece of information involves 6 Circuit City stores that have been chosen to hold a 100 PS3 midnight launch giveaway. The event starts at 8 PM at each location, but you had better get there early to ensure that you are one of the first 100 in line. The locations are as follows:

  • Union Square: New York, NY – Store 3679
  • Torrance: Hawthourne, Los Angeles – Store 404
  • Cherry Hill: Mount Laurel, NJ – Store 0734
  • Schaumburn: Schaumburg, IL – Store 3111
  • Rockville: Rockville, MD – Store 866
  • Short Pump: Richmond, VA – Store 3549

It’s also important to note that a certain percentage of these consoles will be given away as prizes. So, if you are lucky enough to live next to one of these locations, good luck!
