Ken Kutaragi, head of Sony’s games division, recently revealed that the PSP will be getting it’s own Eye Toy.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Eye Toy, the device will allow users to play interactive games – and most likely take pictures and video. The Eye Toy’s big brother for the PS2 offered a mild entertainment experience, but the novelty often wore off quickly.
Kutaragi also noted that PS1 games will soon be available for the PSP via download for those interested in a little nostalgic gaming action.
The news came just before he announced that the release of the PS3 will be delayed until November.
So Kutaragi gives you a little good news with the bad. I wouldn’t say a new Eye Toy really softens the blow at all, but at least the PS3 is will make it to stores this year – as opposed to 2007 as some had predicted.
