Just don’t call it the PSP 2.
Playstation Magazine has confirmed that a redesigned version of the PSP will be hitting shelves in Japan around March of 2007. Here are a few of the new features users can expect:
- An 8GB flash drive from Samsung
- Built in Eye Toy
- Thinner, lighter form factor
And, for those of you who might be wondering, Sony seems to be sticking with the unpopular UMD format. Still, the prospect of an updated PSP is a bit of positive news coming out of the Sony camp - and they sure can use it these days. Update: Sony has firmly denied this story (and it appears that the PSM article may have been a bit on the shady side) so it would be best to chalk this one up as a rumor. Still, companies have lied to protect secrets before, so we may not have heard the last on this one.
