You loved the weirdness of the WarioWare series on the handhelds, but does Smooth Moves take full advantage of the Wii console and its new fangled remote?
Reviews:
Gamespot: (9.1 out of 10) “WarioWare is a fantastic series that gets even better on the Wii with Smooth Moves. As you might expect, this game is totally built around the Wii Remote and maintains, if not surpasses, the level of absolute random insanity that has made the whole series so appealing. It’s a terrific use of the Wii’s unique control features, it looks amazing, and in short, it should be a part of your library.”
CVG: (8.4 out of 10) “WarioWare has never been about lasting dozens of hours in single-player – not unless you’re the type of gamer to play mini games over and over again to beat your own high scores. Yet that doesn’t detract from the fact that this game, while it lasts, is crazy genius and, as we’ve already said, will be the one you come back to when you’ve got a full house.”
IGN: (8.2 out of 10) “The game may be a bit on the short side, taking most gamers around three hours to rip through initially, but it’s packed with a ton of entertaining challenges and crisp, clean, animated shorts. Smooth Moves is as much about the experience as it is about the game, though in the midst of a fun-loving atmosphere it still manages to give hardcore gamers a challenge, loyal Nintendo fans a dose of nostalgia, and newcomers a chance to see what it is Nintendo is all about this generation. It’s not perfect, it isn’t the best in the series, but WarioWare: Smooth Moves is an essential piece of the Wii collection, as it’s as much fun ripping through it in single player adventures as it is to shove the controller off on unsuspecting houseguests or non-gamers months and years down the road.”

Bottom Line: Although the gameplay can be extended in multiplayer, WarioWare: Smooth Moves is extremely short and can be played through in a couple of hours. Still, everything that fans enjoy about the series is present on the Wii version and, as many of the reviews mentioned, if you plan on throwing a party Wario will be one of your aces in the hole.
