Feudal Japan-Themed Board Game Is Crushing Kickstarter Thanks To Awesome Miniatures

Ambitious board games (and accessories) are some of the most popular items on Kickstarter these days. You can add Rising Sun to their ranks now that it secured over $2 million in funding with 20 days still left to go.

Rising Sun is a board game for 3 to 5 players set in legendary feudal Japan. As the Kami descend from the heavens to reshape the land in their image, it is up to each player to lead their clan to victory. Use politics to further your cause, negotiate to seek the most profitable alliances, worship the Kami to gain their favor, recruit monsters out of legend to bolster your forces, and use your resources wisely to be victorious in battle.

The game was created by Eric M. Lang, the same guy behind Blood Rage. It features artwork by Adrian Smith and some stunning miniatures sculpted under the direction of Mike McVey. Just look at these babies:

A pledge of $100 or more will get you the game, with extras added as the stretch goals are achieved. Head on over to Kickstarter to pledge and secure a copy of your own. You can check out a gameplay video below.
