XBox 360Microsoft VP Peter Moore has revealed at an X06 conference that there will be no XBox 360 price drop this fall.

Many had speculated that Microsoft would drop the price of the console in response to the launch of the PS3 and Nintendo Wii. However, the bottom line is that Microsoft is a fairly good position here. We all know that the PS3 is going to be wicked expensive, so the 360 price point already looks attractive in comparison. On the other hand, the Wii’s $250 price point is unapproachable - but it will likely cater to a different audience. It could also be picked up by many, as Moore himself has pointed out, as a second console.

If and when a price drop does take place, I would expect it to happen sometime after Q1 of 2007 when Microsoft upgrades the XBox 360 CPU to 65nm.
