Square EnixJapanese news site Impress is reporting that Final Fantasy XI developers are currently working on a new MMORPG for both Windows Vista and the PS3.

Futhermore, Hiromichi Tanaka, FFXI’s producer, commented that porting the Windows version of Final Fantasy XI to the XBox 360 would be a fairly simple task. On the other hand, making a PS3 version of the title would require starting from scratch - which could take up to three years to complete. Therefore, he explained, there are no plans to develop the game for Sony’s next gen console.

Could the 360 still have a chance? It seems possible.

Expect more news at next months E3 - including more details on the new Vista/PS3 MMORPG.
