Will Sega Re-Release the Dreamcast in Japan?

Sega Dreamcast

According to the German gaming site Gamefront.de, Sega will be re-releasing the Dreamcast – the most beloved console that ever flopped, for around ¥10,000 (about $83 US).

The article claims that the Dreamcast will be bundled with Radilgy (Click for Quicktime gameplay video) and some sort of telephone card.

Odds are, the return of the Dreamcast is going to be a Japan only party – but for all of you die hard Dreamcast fans, it’s still nice to know that the console is out there…somewhere.

Update 12/13/2005:
Unfortunately, Sega Europe has refuted the above information saying that the Dreamcast will not be re-released. However, there is a grain of truth to the story. Apparently Japanese customers will be able to purchase refurbished Dreamcast consoles from Sega Direct. So it is a re-sale, not a re-release.
