While decidely not high-tech , the PowerSquid Surge Protector is a convenient solution that takes the idea of mini extension cords for your typical power strip to a cheaper, simpler solution. The whole idea is that with today’s transformers, you typically lose an outlet or two on the conventional power strip. The PowerSquid simply puts each outlet on a small extension cord so that there is plenty of separation between the outlets to allow you to plug anything in. This new version adds surge protection to the oulets as well. Not earth shattering, but a simple solution to a minor inconvenience.
