I’m all for keeping workers employed at home, but even if you cut those prices in half it would be significantly more than most Americans pay for cigarettes or gasoline. That having been said, even if the chair was $70US, people would still argue the price.

In defence of the price of my grocery bag chair, I wanted to put things in perspective by saying that we could indeed make a cheaper chair by having it made in Asia etc, it is however, made by fairly paid adult labour in the UK within 10 miles of my shop. It would also be a good idea to bear in mind that the unfavourable Sterling to US Dollar exchange rate at present, for example makes diesel US$8.60 a gallon and a packet of smokes US$10.

Why not spend a tenth of this price (or less) on really nice canvas bags so that you never have to use these things again? Or, if you just can’t give them up, think of a better use for them.
