J.K. Rowling doesn’t kid around when she decides to build her children a treehouse / playground / outdoor mansion. The structure is so large that it requires planning permission before she can move forward with actual construction. It includes two treehouses that resemble Hogwarts-like turrets. They are connected by rope bridge and can be accessed by a secret tunnel. Fancy.
The plans submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council show that the play houses are for Rowling’s two youngest children. Yes, they are incredibly lucky. Besides the fact that they get castle like retreats, the houses feature spiral staircases, balconies, carvings, escape poles, and more. As you can imagine, such a structure is not cheap. The treehouses are estimated to cost £150,000 or around $236,000.
