You may recall designer Stelios Mousarris’ Inception-inspired coffee table from a few months ago. Well, now he’s back with this gorgeous table inspired by his childhood nostalgia. Apparently his nostalgia is big on toy rockets.
“I have been collecting toys and action figures and anything nostalgic from my childhood until this day. Every time I take a look at my collectibles I remember my childhood, when I used to play for hours on end without a care in the world. I wanted to recreate that feeling of carefreeness and nostalgia with the Rocket Coffee Table.”
The rockets are based upon toys from his actual collection, and the table is a mixture of hand-carved pieces, resin casting and 3D printing. Best of all, it’s modular – the glass top isn’t affixed to the rocket legs (burning out his fuse up here alone! – Ed.), meaning you can position the legs, and the configuration of the table itself, to your liking.
Personally, I think there’s a lovely Pixar-esque feel to the look of the table, and I want eighteen of them. Continue on for more photos of this table from different angles, because you know you want a closer look at that bubbly, billowing smoke.
